Buying used or refurbished allows you to consider the return on investment for items that you need and or want at an extremely discounted price. Used, refurbished, pre-owned, certified, simply mean that the item is no longer considered brand new.
WHY IT IS IMPORTANT: Considering library resources affords you an opportunity to acquire and expand your resources or access to resources at no cost to you. Anything from classes to books and entertainment is offered at your local library at no or little cost to you. Use the library as a free workspace if needed. There are many hidden perks at your local library, it is up to you to uncover them all.

If you find yourself in a situation where you do not have the money to borrow, loan, or give, just simply say “No.” Just saying “No” puts you at an advantage in your own budget advocacy. Considering generic brands affords you an opportunity to determine if the costs outweigh notoriety. Big brand names tend to mark up their products because of their notoriety.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT: Checking your interest rates allows you to know what it is costing you to have a running balance on your credit cards, what it is costing you to have your dream house or your dream car. Checking your interest rates makes you aware of the “extra” monies that are associated with “owing” money. In other cases, checking your interest rates allows you to put together an efficient and effective plan for eliminating debt and saving for the future.
