WHY IT IS IMPORTANT: Hosting a pot-luck allows you to save money on gatherings and get-togethers. Hosting a pot-luck allows a variety of menu items. Historically, potlucks have been used in the past for communal gatherings at churches to spread the distribution of costs. Hosting a pot-luck allows you to take the pressure off your wallet and your budget and allow attendees, themselves, to contribute what they can afford. No pressure on anyone and your budget and wallet, give a sigh of relief.
KEY POINT(S): Hosting a potluck allows you to save money. Period.
MY EXPERIENCE: For our son’s baby “party” we opted to host and simply asked guests to bring something for our unborn child. However, that “party” was expensive and we said never again. We quickly switch our thinking on future gatherings. Now, our event budget allows for basic items to host a party and we ask guests to bring something for everyone to enjoy. Our events are always a blast and there is ALWAYS extra food for folks to take with them and for us to meal plan with. A win-win. Hosting potlucks allows for variety, simplicity, and everyone’s budget stays happy. Hosting potlucks definitely saves us money and our family and friends love to pitch in.
QUESTIONS FOR YOU: Have you found potlucks to be a cost-saving? What has hindered you from hosting potlucks?
